Exhibition Statement:
False Cast explores new placements and perspectives in our first installation within a domestic setting. Utilizing mid century architecture perched atop the hills of La Mesa CA, this is a space where the natural and manmade converge and coalesce. The human relationship to nature is palpable as you circumnavigate the landscape and pass between the structure and gardens. A choice is made to make a garden, to build a home, to make an artwork; this show asks us to appreciate the magic of creation.
The artists we've selected are fluent in the communication of the biological and the esoteric. Each connects to the unseen worlds of life just beyond the sight of daily experience digging deeply into the earth and the air to discover the alchemy of the elemental. Garden Universal is the summation of looking deeply with humor, joy and childlike wonder.
